For the "USAID Response Leadership Activity," Bahir Dar University (BDU) was awarded funding by USAID/Ethiopia in order to expand on the success of the BDU-Internship Support Program run by the Institute of Disaster Risk Management and Food Security Studies (IDRMFSS). A five-year (July 27, 2022–July 26, 2027) nationwide project called USAID Response Leadership Activity will be undertaken in 7 TVETs and 11 federal public institutions. Through a two-year fellowship program, this initiative aims to develop the next young generation of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) experts by giving them the knowledge and abilities they need to participate effectively in the DRM system. 150 fellows of DRM and related degrees will be housed in various host organizations as part of the first cohort fellowship program. All graduates from partner universities and TVETs are eligible to apply for the USAID Response Leadership Activity fellowship program, regardless of their race or ethnicity, age, religion, geography, socioeconomic situation, disability, or gender identity.
The fellowship program intends to develop the next generation of young DRM specialists who are able to meet Ethiopia's present DRM demand and close the sector's professional deficit. The two-year fellowship program will give participants the chance to expand their skills through networking, professional growth, on-the-job training, and opportunities for DRM leadership.
The program will provide successful fellows a monthly stipend to cover their expenses.
The fellows will receive brief training and be placed in various hosting organizations to put their newfound abilities into practice while receiving mentorship.
Interested applicants who are eligible for the program must complete the online application form HERE along with a copy of required credentials and recent Letter of unemployment from concerned government organizations.
Please read the application instruction carefully before applying.
